Privacy
What gamebook.quest stores about you, why, and how to delete it. In short: you can play without an account and without any data collection; an account is only needed for reviews, comments and cloud saves.
Without an account
Your game progress is stored only in your browser (localStorage) and is never sent anywhere. We use no ads, no visitor analytics and no third-party trackers.
What we store when you sign in
Email — to send you a sign-in code. It is never published or shared.
Profile: the name shown on your reviews (optional — without it we show “Reader”), interface language and the colour of your initials avatar.
Reviews and comments: text, rating, language, book and paragraph, dates and moderation status. Reviews and comments are public together with your name and initials.
Cloud saves: your progress in each book, so you can continue on another device.
Reports you send to the moderator.
The moderator sees posts and their author’s email — only to fight spam.
Cookies
Technical cookies only, so there is no consent banner: gb.session_token — your sign-in session (httpOnly, not readable by scripts), lang — the site language you chose. localStorage keeps game saves and your language choice.
Cloudflare and Turnstile
The site runs through the Cloudflare network, which processes IP addresses and technical request data to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. The sign-in form may show a Cloudflare Turnstile “not a robot” check, for which Cloudflare processes browser and device data. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Our server uses your IP address to rate-limit requests (spam protection); it is not stored in the database. Sign-in code emails are sent through an email delivery service.
Retention
Account data is kept while the account exists. A deleted account is erased immediately together with its reviews, comments (and replies to them) and saves; it disappears from database backups within 14 days.
Download your data and delete your account
Sign in and open the account menu — the initials button in the top corner: “Download my data” gives you everything we store about you as one JSON file; “Delete account” erases the account and everything linked to it.
